Make The Gardening List Now

This is a great time of the yea! The holidays are over, it is a new year, and it will soon be spring. With its cool mornings, the sounds of birds, and the plants and trees turning green, spring is delightful! Everywhere around you are the signs of rejuvenation, newness, and new beginning. Another great part about spring is the opportunity it affords us to get outdoors. If you love gardening, it is an exciting time as you anticipate working the soil.

As we gardeners know, working in the yard or in the garden soil is a therapeutic experience. Working outdoors and digging in the soil provides exercise, quite reflection, and a feeling of being in touch with nature. There are few activities as rewarding. To make this whole experience even more rewarding, it helps to have the right gardening tools and supplies on hand. Again, if you are like me, having to interrupt working outdoors to run to the hardware store for something sort of kills the whole experience, unless you love shopping with the hordes of people!

So, if you are newbie or even an old timer, the first place to begin planning for spring is to make a list of the tools and supplies you will need to tend to your yard or garden this coming year. Make a complete list, including gloves, hand tools, power tools, fertilizers, pesticides, and clothing. Now is the time to purchase new items or replace old worn out ones.

Do you have enough fertilizer, rose food, and insecticides? Don’t forget the miscellaneous items, such as gloves, knee pads, and a hat to protect your head from the sun. Check the list to make sure it is complete. You need to think about the tools you will need to do it all, planting, weeding, etc.

Yes, spring is about here! This can be both exciting and a little nerve racking, especially if you are a planner like me and realize that there is only a little time left to make your gardening plans. Remember, get that tool and supply list going!
